Warm and Cosy

Quote “Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o’clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without.” – Thomas de Quincey

Dear readers

A timeless quote from Thomas de Quincey and a perfect seque to a day of snuggle and reading a favourite book. It’s a cloudy day and rain is on the way, our fire is burning and the wheelbarrow full of chopped wood. Winston is purring beside me as I sew with blanketing making all things cosy and warm and loving the process. Trust all is well in your world

Ticking Hearts

The excitement of opening the studio doors is gently quietening down and the sewing space is beckoning my attention. I have got myself back into the zone and have been busy working on a new project called ‘Ticking Hearts’. A departure from my usual bright colours and bold designs, however the subtlety of hearts appliquéd onto a striped background is working well for me today and I feel some country style energy with this pattern and design. Just what my spirit needs Cxx
