Heritage Stitching

Quote “She watched and taught the girls that sang at their embroidery frames while the great silk flowers grew from their needles”. ~Louise Jordan Miln, The Feast of Lanterns

Further to this lovely quote, I was thinking about summer classes I will running once the renovations on the studio are completed. I have been pondering on some embroidery workshops and thought it would be an idea to unpack some of my kits from previous classes and have a rethink about changing styles and current trends with needlework. Reflecting on my recent work, I have gone on a very bright and colourful tangent of late but still enjoy looking at the heritage and heirloom designs that I created in the past. This piece was was worked with wool and cotton. Kits (inclusive of pattern, threads and fabric) are available at $35 AUD plus postage and handling.
